Since the 80’s, SVED Optical has been making the best prescription sunglasses with the sharpest optics always in mind. Offering that Rx in Pit Vipers is a BIG DEAL. That’s because prescription sunglasses have always been a pain point in the prescription wearing community. It seems they are always too expensive, too heavy, too distorted, or sometimes all three! Not a good stigma. With SVED Optical’s Rx Insert for the 2000s, Originals, Intimidators, and PV XS that’s no longer the case. You can have all the styles you want, with Rx lenses that offer the best of the best:
Same Model Interchangeability
1 Year Remounting Warranty
High Rx Capabilities
Rimless Design
Polycarbonate Lens Material
1. Same Model Interchangeability
BUY MORE PIT VIPERS. Why? Well first off, if you know Pit Viper then you shouldn’t be asking. Shame on you! All jokes aside, if you wear prescription sunglasses, then you know it means you usually get one pair of glasses that you’re stuck with for one—maybe two years...or until they literally deteriorate off your face. With prescription Pit Vipers, the lenses are attached to the nosepiece, meaning you can pop the prescription out and interchange it between Pit Vipers that are the same model. So, if you want to make a statement at the next tailgate party in The Absolute Freedoms, and then take it down a notch walking into work on Monday morning in the The Exec? No problem! Just swap your prescription nosepiece from one to the other!
2. 1 Year Remounting Warranty
You thought because you go 60 mph downhill on a ski slope in nothing but your Pit Vipers that if you wipe out and smash your new PV Rx into a snow and ice obliteration it wouldn’t be covered under warranty? Nope! You just keep on keeping on! SVED Optical will remount those hell-torn lenses onto a nosepiece so you can get back to the party we call life.
3. High Rx Capabilities
Some people need prescriptions, and some of people NEED prescription so bad their life depends on it. Either way, you shouldn’t have to make a choice between style or vision. It’s what makes SVED Optical’s prescription so dang likeable. Since the Rx lenses fit behind the sunglass lens, they can be thinner, and smaller making them super light weight. This design eliminates more distortion in vision than a typical sunglass lens because the lens curve is much less drastic.
4. Rimless Design
SVED has had 30 years to perfect lens design, and it shows! Maybe you need to scroll back to the top — the lenses just float there in mid-air like they're Chris frickin' Angel on the Las Vegas Strip! The size and shape create a virtually unnoticeable, almost invisible lens. If you want everyone you stare down on the ski slopes to know that you wear prescription lenses, sorry, not going to happen!
5. Polycarbonate Lens Material
Plastic sucks, Polycarb rules! At SVED Optical, there’s only one lens material option: polycarbonate. Polycarbonate lenses are thin, lightweight, and impact/scratch resistant. Anything else would slow you down, and that’s not acceptable.
The key takeaway here is to buy more Pit Vipers, same model Pit Vipers to be precise. There’s currently 38 different Pit Viper 2000s and it only takes one SVED Rx nosepiece to interchange between all of them! Tell me about a time you had 38 different options with one pair of prescription lenses...go ahead!
