Our Story

SVED Optical was founded in 1989 by Robert Sved, who saw a need for a better way to bring prescription vision to performance eyewear. He designed one of the earliest prescription inserts for shield sunglasses such as Oakley M and NYX Carbon, allowing athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy clear vision while wearing the sport sunglasses they loved.
 
In the early years, he traveled to competitions and events, selling prescription inserts directly from a booth and building relationships with customers who needed reliable vision solutions for sports, shooting, and outdoor activities.
 
In 2015, Robert and his wife Ann partnered with Grady and Kallie, who later became co-owners of SVED Optical. Together, they launched the company's first e-commerce store, making prescription inserts and specialty eyewear accessible to customers.
 
Today, SVED Optical remains a family-owned small business based in Southern Utah. Our team of certified opticians specializes in prescription inserts, foldable prescription glasses, and custom prescription eyewear solutions for active lifestyles. With more than 35 years of experience, we combine industry expertise with personalized customer service to help each customer find the right solution for their vision needs.
