Yes! All of our inserts come with a free 1-year remounting warranty. Our performance insert is one of the most durable rimless inserts available but it is not indestructible. That being said, if your lenses should start to detach or your nose piece begins to break we will remount your lenses to a new nose piece at no charge except shipping. Before you get started you need to have 3 things ready: Your Frame Model (frame purchased separately), Most Recent Prescription, and Pupil Distance (PD). Once you have those 3 things you can get started below. Go to the Main Menu and select “Start Order” then go to “Rx Insert Orders". Add the SVED Rx Insert to your cart. Go to your Cart Page and select "HAVE A CURRENT PRESCRIPTION?" or "SEND PRESCRIPTION LATER". Click “Proceed to Checkout”. Your form will let us know your frame model, PD and prescription. Once you are back to the cart page, scroll down to "Checkout" and complete your payment.

Yes. Prescription lenses have different thicknesses and lens curvatures which is why they require more attention to achieve a proper fit.

It can take up to 10 business days to complete your order, plus shipping time. You will receive a confirmation email when your order is placed and an email with tracking information when your order ships. Heads up - we don’t send order updates while it’s being made, but don’t worry, it’s in progress! If we need anything from you to finish your order, we’ll reach out via email.

No, our prescription lenses for Pit Viper Exciters do not meet ANSI Z87 safety standards and are not certified as Z87-rated safety lenses.

Anti-reflective coating reduces glare and reflections on your lenses, improves visual clarity, and allows more light to pass through. This helps reduce eye strain and fatigue, especially in bright or low-light conditions, making your vision more comfortable and clear throughout the day.

Typically, no. However, visibility can vary depending on the type of sunglass lenses and lighting conditions. For example, gradient tints, which are darker at the top and lighter at the bottom, allow more light to pass through. This can make the insert more noticeable. If you prefer your inserts to remain unseen, choose sunglasses with dark lenses, polarization, and mirror coatings, which help reduce visibility. Our inserts are designed with a rimless cut to fit your lenses precisely and are securely attached to your nosepiece using our durable suspension system. Sometimes they do, depending on the fit and curvature of your sunglasses. Because our inserts are custom-made for each frame, we can’t guarantee whether they will touch your lenses. Sunglasses with more wrap-around designs are more likely to have contact. If the lenses do touch, it does not affect your vision or performance. We carefully adjust your prescription for wrap and tilt to ensure optimal visual clarity and comfort. Below you can see the lenses are not touching in this Pit Viper frame with this specific RX:

Leaving your insert in a hot car is not recommended. Excessive heat can warp or damage the nosepiece, potentially ruining your insert. To keep your inserts in great condition, always store them in a cool, shaded place.

The main reason for the fishbowl effect is wrong pupil distance (PD). Make sure you have your PD exactly right. Go to an optical shop and have an optician take it if possible. Some people may experience a distortion in their peripheral vision (commonly known as the fish bowl effect) after receiving their insert. This occurrence can be the result of a curved lens which is typically why people with stronger prescriptions may experience it more. Adjustment Period: Adjusting to your new Rx insert can take a few days to a few weeks. Even if you are getting new glasses with the same prescription, different frames and lens styles can alter your vision until you get used to the new eyewear. Speeding Up Your Adaptation Period: As long as you can perform tasks safely, wear your new eyewear for as long as you can each day while keeping yourself busy. Try to refrain swapping to a different pair of glasses, this tends to make it harder for you to adapt. SVED Optical’s Non-Adapt Policy: You have 30-days to test drive your new insert. If for any reason you are not happy, you can send it back and we can troubleshoot the problem or you can get a full refund. Bottom line, don't sweat the bowl. We work with a wide variety of frames! The main requirement is that your sunglasses have a removable nosepiece or interchangeable lenses. If you have a style we haven’t worked with before, manufacturing might take a little longer. Yes, absolutely! We only make changes to the nosepiece and those changes do not affect the way they fit.

The lenses fit as close to the sunglass lens as possible to help prevent this from happening. If you have any issues let us know!

Yes, the inserts work great for kids too! Keep in mind, it's very important that we have the correct Pupil Distance (PD).

It is possible over time that they may make a mark on the back of the sunglass lens, but it will be outside your field of vision and not noticeable from the front of sunglasses.

Yes! International orders are typically sent via FedEx or UPS, and sometimes through USPS, depending on the destination. Please note: International shipments may be subject to import duties, taxes, or fees charged by your country’s customs office. These charges are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in your order total. Delivery times vary and can sometimes take up to 20 business days, depending on your location and customs processing. You’ll receive tracking information once your order ships so you can follow its progress.

Pupil distance (PD) is the measurement, in millimeters (mm), between the centers of your pupils. There are two types: Distance PD (the larger number), used for distance vision lenses - this is what we need. Near PD, used for reading or close-up lenses. PD can be measured two ways: Monocular PD: Separate measurement for each eye, usually around 25–35 mm per eye. Binocular PD: Combined measurement for both eyes, typically between 55–75 mm.

Three ways to get your P.D. Ask your eye doctor to take the measurement during the exam. Contact the store where you last bought glasses and request your PD. Ask your local optical professional to take the measurement.

Yes! We accept FSA and HSA dollars for all prescription eyewear purchases as long as your FSA or HSA card is affiliated with a major credit card. You can place an order on our site using your FSA or HSA card just like you would any other credit card. Sometime issues can occur so here's a couple things you can try if they do: Check the balance on your card and make sure there are enough funds. Check with your FSA/HSA provider to confirm you are eligible. If you don't have a physical HSA/FSA card, you can pay with your credit card like normal and then get reimbursed from your FSA/HSA provider. You'll need to get in touch with your provider and see the necessary steps that are required for reimbursement. Typically, you will submit a reimbursement form along with a receipt/invoice. We’ll include a receipt/invoice with your order confirmation email as well as a physical copy with your order.

While we cannot help you directly to get an insurance claim processed with your vision provider, our standard invoice can act as an itemized receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We cannot say whether or not your insurance carrier will reimburse you the designated allowance for our prescription eyewear. That being said, we highly recommend that you get in touch with your insurance provider or review the terms on your insurance agreement for amounts and in-network vs. out-of-network coverage.
